The State of Coworking at the HUB 127

Updated: Aug 18, 2022

"Never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it. The time will pass anyway." - Earl Nightingale

I’m not sure how a year has already passed since my first day operating the HUB 127 Coworking Space. Until that day, I had never heard of such an idea and certainly never guessed that such a space was available in downtown Princeton, Indiana. But here we are a whole year wiser and I’m completely sold on this work model.

Of course, I may be a bit biased.

The HUB 127 of August 2021 was a nearly blank canvas….a great bone structure, several awesome coworkers, and very little public awareness. Today I’m excited to share all the ways the HUB has grown and continues to develop as a community.

Membership

HUB 127 membership currently boasts:

  • 18 individuals representing small business coaching, health care, IT, human resources, media production, and ministry

  • 9 individuals utilizing private office space and representing both for-profit and non-profit organizations

  • 2 additional businesses with annual memberships for the meeting space perks

  • numerous day pass and short term members

Space

In the past 12 months, the HUB 127 facility has seen improvements with:

  • a welcome area staffed by yours truly

  • an online reservation system for the boardroom and conference room

  • Square payment system

  • a fully-stocked coffee bar serving freshly brewed Portside Coffee

  • a snack bar for mid-day munchies or a quick break

  • 18 live plants

  • 2 electric standing desks & office chairs

  • 4 new drafting chairs

  • fresh paint in two private offices

  • exciting plans for the north exterior wall...painting is in progress

Activities

Since August 2021, the HUB 127 has:

  • developed a website specific to the coworking space

  • established a presence on Facebook and Instagram

  • joined the Indiana Coworking Passport giving our members access to other coworking spaces in the state

  • twice hosted Working Women Wednesday, a new Gibson County business initiative

  • enjoyed puppy visits, birthday celebrations, and an Easter egg hunt

  • supported numerous county small businesses through our purchasing

  • collected donations for Gibson County Animal Services and the Isaiah 1:17 Project

  • hosted countless businesses and local organizations for meetings and trainings

And we aren't done yet.

I’m here to be the loudest cheerleader for coworking and our HUB 127 members in Gibson County. That’s why I’ll be sharing member profiles on the blog every week for the next….however long it takes. You’ll get to meet all the incredible people and industries that make up our HUB 127 membership, and you just might see a place for yourself here as well.

Thank you to our followers who consistently promote the incredible people and happenings at the HUB 127. We are proud to serve Gibson County and those traveling through, and we are delighted to be part of all that’s happening in downtown Princeton.

Stay tuned for more great things in the year ahead!
